Scarlett reports via Twitter that she waited hours to vote in North Charleston on Saturday. Here's what she says on her blog:
Estimates were there 2000+ voting here in North Charleston, SC on
Saturday. The poll workers said it was like this every day so far. The
polls were scheduled to be open in Charleston at 9am, but could not as
the streets were so littered with people and cars, that the poll
workers could not get in. The police were dispatched to direct traffic
flow.
During the 4.5 hours it took us to vote, we stood in line and felt blessed to be in this experience, in this now, in this here, in this moment of time, when I could say that I was there. I was moved.
